Accessibility statement

A site everyone can use.

I want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, zoom, or other assistive technology.

The standard

This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That's the standard most often used to judge whether a website is accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

What's in place

  • Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a clear outline on whatever has focus and a "Skip to content" link on every page.
  • Pages fit the screen at phone width and at 400% zoom without sideways scrolling, and stay readable when you enlarge text or widen letter, word and line spacing.
  • Headings, page regions and lists are marked up so screen readers can jump between them, and the drawings have text descriptions.
  • The one animation, the candle flicker at the top of the home page, stops by itself within 5 seconds. It doesn't play at all if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • There are no forms, CAPTCHAs, videos, pop-ups or time limits.

Last review

The site was last reviewed on October 24, 2026, with automated checks plus hands-on keyboard, zoom and text-spacing tests. I'm not aware of any barriers right now, but if you run into one, I want to hear about it.
